What is a Marketing Funnel

Apr 6

What is a Marketing funnel? Why should every marketer use one?

It is a method of marketing used to get prospective customers to purchase items from your site. It's a sales method where a customer visits your website looking for information that can help to solve a particular problem. You can build a rapport with every person you meet using certain tools.

This will allow you to better understand the needs of each visitor. This will allow you to provide the most accurate information to each customer. Visitors will feel more confident purchasing your products when you have earned their confidence. The customer becomes the visitor.

Certain customers turn out to be very loyal customers, willing to buy every product you advertise. Marketing funnels are a collection of all the steps that are involved in turning a website visitor to a customer who will buy anything you offer.

This is the goal that should be achieved. It is achievable with a properly designed funnel.

Your marketing materials are attracting people's attention and guiding them to the funnel. They enter the funnel when they fill in the forms on your PERSONAL lead capture page. I say "personal" because no one is going to opt in on your business lead capture page. They are looking for an executive to join them, not a small business.

The page for lead capture is where they enter into the funnel - when they click the "Sign up Now" or "Enter Here" button, they are entered into a whole new concept in network marketing.

The best thing is that they are qualified to do it. It's their choice. They have nothing to offer you other than your leadership skills and mentor, and as someone who can assist to increase leads for their business.

This is how a typical advertising funnel works.

On the "front-end" you can offer an offer that is free to draw and qualify people who may have an interest to purchase your products later on in the sales funnel. You must sign up to get the product for free.

Now, you have these contacts in your email list and you can send them related offers that might interest them.

By signing up for the free offer will take you to a webpage that has low-price deals or what's called a "trip wire offer". This is where they'll be taken to the "backend" of funnel.

If they purchase the bargain priced offer then they will be taken to a different offer at a higher price (normally called an upsell). If the buyer buys this higher priced offer, they'll be taken to the next related product at an even more expensive cost. The list could go on and on...
