Portrait of middle aged man using his cell phone to listen to modern music online … [+]
I’m a sucker for a good audiobook, mostly because I read all the time at home. I like to queue them up when I go on long trips and they were a godsend during the pandemic. Here are my favorites from last year that got stuck in my synapses.
1. The practice
Seth Godin is the true master of insightful books. By listening in audiobook format, you can learn about his innovative ideas on how to do business with more purpose.
2. Great Britain in the Bay
I was blown away by this exciting account of Britain during World War II, especially the introductory chapter on misperceptions of the English from The Lord of the Rings during that time.
3. The sandman
Full production for these audiobooks makes it ideal for long car trips and sitting at home in lockdown (hopefully just for a while longer with vaccines coming)
4. Dream big
One of my favorite writers of all time has a lot to say about ambition, making plans that last, and following your heart in a way that is fun, insightful, and completely real.
This audiobook was published last year but is highly relevant for this year. It will help you deal with constant distraction. The real answer? Use your time intentionally.
6. Talk to strangers
Much has been said about Malcolm Gladwell, but you may not know that his latest book in audio format is more like a radio program with a whole range of characters.
