With Adobe leveraging its annual MAX conference to showcase new enhancements to its professional creative applications for users, it’s no surprise that this year’s online-only event is a virtual collection of announcements – too many to count or thanks to the huge collection even list Creative Cloud apps that are receiving all updates. Photoshop’s neural filters are possibly the largest validation of Adobe’s AI strategy yet, which relies on Sensei’s cloud-based machine learning platform to do a lot of computational work for professional apps. To address this issue, Adobe is releasing a private beta version of its Content Authenticity Initiative for Photoshop and Behance that will allow creatives to add certification metadata for their images. A pop-up window contains check marks for a cryptographically signed, permanently attached thumbnail. the name of the image producer; a list of changes and activities; and links to original objects that will be used in the final image.

Backed by content providers like the BBC, CBC Radio-Canada and the New York Times, with Microsoft, Qualcomm, Truepic, Twitter and others on the technical side, Adobe’s initiative includes a website called verify.contentauthenticity.org which Members of the public can be used to verify the authenticity of content for images.
