Alicia Tillman announced on LinkedIn this morning that she will step down from her role as Global Chief Marketing Officer for SAP in late February. The company also announced today that it has recruited two top-level employees, both of whom will join the SAP board of directors: Former Microsoft CEO Julia White will assume the newly created role of Chief Marketing and Solutions Officer, and Scott Russell will lead the SAP consumer success organization.

Tillman spent nearly six years at SAP, she said in her departure from LinkedIn. Prior to her role as global CMO, she was CMO director of marketing for the company’s SAP Ariba procurement and supply chain arm. Although she has not yet announced what is coming next, she says that she is leaving SAP “to pursue my next ambition”.

White, who will now lead the SAP marketing team in a slightly different role, joins the company after almost two decades at Microsoft. Most recently, she headed product marketing for Microsoft Azure for five years. Previously, she was responsible for product marketing for Microsoft 365 during the transition to the cloud.

“SAP is in a critical transformation,” White said in a statement. “It is a unique opportunity to redefine how successful organizations work, and the leadership team has made bold and bold commitments to accelerate cloud innovation to this end. I am very pleased to contribute to this trip and thank the Supervisory Board for their trust in me. “

In the new position, White will be tasked with strengthening SAP’s go-to-market approach, focusing on product, industry and digital marketing, and connecting customer and ecosystem requirements through product development, the company said in its current version.

Russell, the company’s new customer success, will replace Adaire Fox-Martin, who is leaving later this month.

“We are very pleased that both Julia and Scott are joining the Executive Board to continue SAP’s strategic direction,” said Hasso Plattner, chairman of the SAP supervisory board, in a statement. “We would also like to thank Adaire for their longstanding contribution to the company.”
