Did you know that you can add extra security to your TikTok account by enabling two-step verification? With this feature enabled, you’ll need to enter a verification code every time you log into TikTok with an unrecognized device or third-party application.
Our guide will show you how to enable two-step verification in the TikTok app.
Note: These screenshots were taken in the TikTok app on iOS.
Step 1: At the bottom right of the screen, tap Me.
Step 2: Tap the three dots in the top right corner of the screen.
Step 3: Tap on “Security”.
Step 4: Tap Two Step Verification.
Step 5: Tap either “SMS” or “Email” depending on how you would like to receive your verification code when you sign in to TikTok. Then tap Power On at the bottom of the screen.
After tapping “Email”, enter your preferred email address, then tap “Send Code”. TikTok will send you an email that will allow you to verify your email address.
Once you’ve turned on two-step verification, you can tap the other option (SMS or Email) to turn it on as a backup method. If you originally selected SMS, you can enable Email as the backup verification method and vice versa.
