The second annual .ORG Impact Awards, starting November 30th, will look very different from the debut version in 2019.

While there won’t be an optional black tie gala in the country’s capital this year, 45 finalists have been announced for the top 9 award categories, with each award being announced on a consecutive day of The Ten Days of .ORG. ‘Prize winners will receive a donation of up to $ 30,000 to an eligible nonprofit of their choice.

On the last night of the celebration – December 11th – one of the 45 nominees was named “ORG of the Year”.

“In this year of so many challenges and changes, mission-driven .ORGs make an even bigger impact on the communities and causes they serve and support,” said Jon Nevett, president and CEO of the Public Interest Registry. “We celebrate their contributions and recognize that .ORGs are making their communities a better place. This year we saw an extremely impressive group of submissions showing the diverse and inspiring work done in the .ORG community around the world, and we’d like to thank everyone who participated in the .ORG Impact Awards. “

More than 500 organizations and individuals submitted entries in the following categories this year: Fighting Coronavirus; Fighting hunger and poverty; Stand up for equality, justice, inclusion; Promoting education; Promoting environmental sustainability; Promoting a safer internet; Innovation award; Excellent volunteer; and .ORG Newcomer of the Year. “After a thorough review by our judges in 2020, the top five entries in 9 categories were selected and named finalists, each representing the best of what .ORGs have to offer to make a meaningful difference in their communities and in the Making the world happen, “said Nevett. “We are impressed and inspired by their successes and look forward to announcing the winning .ORGs later this fall.”
