Amateur sports and games community company Super League Gaming has agreed to acquire Mobcrush, the game’s live streaming platform that distributes video to a variety of mobile and PC platforms.

Santa Monica, California-based Super League Gaming, publicly traded on the Nasdaq, provides sporting events and entertainment for everyday gamers of all ages. Mobcrush is used by hundreds of thousands of gaming influencers who record their streams on mobile devices and distribute their streams across a variety of platforms. Mobcrush’s influencers stream 2 million hours of original content annually.

Mobcrush can distribute its streams to Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and more. Mobcrush also owns Mineville, one of six exclusive, official Minecraft server partners that are used by more than 22 million unique players annually. So it can take up a fairly wide range. Mobcrush shareholders will receive 0.528 shares of Super League Gaming for every Mobcrush share they own, depending on the transaction.

Mobcrush’s Mineville complements Minehut, the League League-run Minecraft community, and that gives the combined company a good position with young players.

The transaction is expected to have a positive impact (add to earnings) and allow the Super League to serve brands, advertisers and other consumer businesses the reach of the audience through the top video game engagement channels – competitive events, social media, live streaming – Content and in-game experiences.

With this acquisition, the Super League is expected to have a US audience of 85 million per month. This makes the combined company one of the top 50 US media properties (Nielsen DCR December 2020). It features more than 200,000 gameplay highlights distributed monthly across streaming video and social media platforms, and more than 60 million hours of annual gameplay across multiple platforms.

With Mobcrush, the Super League will have a combined player base of more than three million per month and more than 400,000 players per day. In a statement, Ann Hand, CEO of Super League Gaming, said the companies share the mission of empowering gamers and streamers to create gameplay and streaming content for a large US audience.

Mike Wann, CEO of Mobcrush, said in a statement that the Super League is one of the strongest brands in the sports entertainment ecosystem and has seen impressive growth in digital audience and content during the COVID. He said the combined company will be able to target media to the dedicated young player.

The deal is expected to close in the Super League’s second fiscal quarter, pending approval. The combined companies will employ around 80 people.
