Performing and fine arts students often take advantage of scholarship opportunities to help them realize their dreams of a creative career. Finding scholarships for creative students can be difficult, and it is necessary to examine all possible avenues of obtaining scholarships.
These 10 scholarships are available to students of the performing and visual arts. They all provide excellent opportunities for students to show their creative passions.
1. Benjy Grinberg Scholarship
The Benjy Grinberg Rostrum Scholarship is aimed at students of the performing arts, visual arts, and other creative professions. It’s a $ 1,000 award. Scholarships like this can be an important step towards academic and professional success.
To be considered for the Benjy Grinberg Rostrum Scholarship, students must write a 750 word essay responding to the prompt, “What is your passion or hobby and what role does it play in your educational journey?”.
The scholarship is available to current elementary, high school and senior high school students who have been admitted to college or university. This year’s application deadline for a scholarship ends on May 31, 2021.
2. Beverly G. Alpay Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is for alumni and undergraduate students of institutions in Southern California. Students are invited to submit their artistic work for the scholarship exhibition at the Palos Verdes Arts Center. A student receives a $ 5,000 scholarship. The deadline is March 15, 2021.
3. Art for life! scholarship
The arts for life! 25 Florida High School seniors will receive a $ 1,000 scholarship. Students must demonstrate artistic and academic excellence in creative writing, theater, dance, visual arts, or music.
Applicants are required to write an essay explaining how the arts have positively influenced their lives, as well as a portfolio of their work. The deadline ends on February 1, 2021.
4. Elaine Sirkin Forbes Scholarship
This scholarship was created by the Pittsburgh Foundation in honor of Elaine Sirkin Forbes. Only students from Allegheny County, Pennsylvania are eligible for this award, which averages $ 1,000 per year. Students must be interested in visual, media, or performance arts majors to be considered. The deadline is March 31, 2021.
5. George Heller Memorial Scholarship
The George Heller Memorial Scholarship was established by the Screen Actors Guild Foundation. Only members of SAG-AFTRA and their legal dependents can apply. This is a $ 2,500 award for students specializing in the performing arts. Applications for this academic year were opened in December 2020.

8. Create a Real Impact Contest
This award was created by the non-profit Impact Teen Drivers. The program encourages students to create works that educate teenagers about the dangers of reckless and distracted driving. Creative writing, visual arts, and film are included. The price is $ 10,000 and ends November 12, 2021.
9. Walt Disney Imaginations Design Contest Project Challenge
The Disney Imagineering division created this competition to encourage the creativity of students across the country. Students are invited to design a community installation that will inspire residents and students. Students must be at least 18 years old and currently enrolled as juniors or seniors in college. Doctoral students and graduates are also eligible to participate. The deadline ends on October 11, 2021.
10. Iowa Scholarships for the Arts
This scholarship was created for Iowa High School seniors. It’s a $ 1,500 award for students interested in the visual and performing arts. Students must also enroll in an Iowa college to receive the award. The deadline ends on March 1, 2021.
