TikTok is celebrating World Mental Health Day on Saturday (October 10th) by partnering with Diplo for a one-hour meditative music experience with a secular Sabbath, Rhye and “other surprises”.
The event will be broadcast live on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. (PT) / 8:00 p.m. (ET). Viewers can donate to the Jed Foundation, which provides adolescents and young adults with skills and support.
The donations are supported by the non-profit donation platform Tiltify.
In addition to the Jed Foundation, TikTok also works with mental health organizations Providence Health, Seize the Awkward, and The Trevor Project to share tips, resources, and conversation starters on its platform.
Diplo said in a TikTok blog post on Friday, “Mental health is something we don’t talk about enough, but it’s something we all need to get better at. This year is tough. We are more isolated than ever due to social distancing. If you’re struggling or having a friend or family member, you may not know how to start a conversation, but there are great resources out there to help you make a difference. “
