Most event planners and other industry professionals state that currently, due to COVID-19, they would be uncomfortable attending an indoor event even at half capacity. This is the result of recent research by the Event Leadership Institute.
The report is based on data from a survey conducted in July 2020 of nearly 800 event planners, event agencies, and vendors and suppliers in the event industry.
Around 84% of respondents say that they would currently be uncomfortable attending an indoor event (trade show, corporate meeting, marketing activation, etc.) at full capacity, and 54% would not be comfortable attending Attending a half capacity indoor event.
Most respondents say that they would be comfortable attending an indoor event with 20% capacity as well as an outdoor event with half capacity.
Most industry professionals say that if it lasted more than half a day, they wouldn’t be comfortable right now.
In order to feel comfortable at a personal event, the most important health measures, according to industry experts, are that all participants wear masks (77% rate this as very important) and that hand sanitisers are widely available (77%).
